The Trans Mag

The culmination of months of hard work, and the collective resistance of hundreds of trans creators; the Trans Mag is a consistently printed all-trans magazine dedicated to preserving and documenting trans art, life, culture, and content. Every purchase of the Trans Mag goes to directly supporting the trans community with the work they are creating. There has never been a dedicated space for us in this world, and this magazine is going to work hard to become that space. We sell physical copies nationwide as well as offer a $5/month e-copy for direct access to the magazine releases. Every physical magazine will come with hand printed art, a trans pin up model, and a custom sticker designed by a trans artist.
Issue 2 Submissions Open 8/15-9/15
ALL CONTRIBUTORS MUST BE 18+ AND IDENTIFY AS TRANS, NONBINARY, OR GENDER NON-CONFORMING.
THEME: FUCK YOU!
For ISSUE #2, we want you to send in everything that WOULDN'T traditionally be accepted by media outlets. For example, more radical trans opinion pieces, full frontal nudity, visceral descriptions of bottom surgery, furry porn, etc... This is a FUCK YOU to trans censorship, a FUCK YOU to capitalism, and a FUCK YOU to how our work has been put into the world before. This is new.
We want this magazine to stay flexible and open to different interpretations of the theme. We are accepting submissions of...
- PHOTOGRAPHY
- VISUAL ART (Analog and/or digital, including photos of 3D media like sculpture, pottery, etc.)
- COMICS/GRAPHIC NOVEL EXCERPTS (To be printed on 6” x 9” paper, half-page comics are welcome)
- TRANS-FOCUSED RESEARCH (Scholarly papers, studies, essays, criticism, etc.)
- COMMUNITY RESOURCES (How-to guides, mutual aid, HRT, etc.)
- OTHER (trans movie reviews, ask a therapist, pitch an idea...)
Our ability to financially compensate artists heavily depends on magazine sales. From issue 1, we aim for a model of $25-$100 each per accepted submission, depending on the medium.
